The life and worship of St. Nicholas Church is planned by the clergy and Parochial Church Council (PCC) for the benefit of the local inhabitants.
The council is elected annually along with two Churchwardens who help with the leadership and running of the Church. The Church is supported mainly through fund raising and the voluntary giving by its members. The Church has a number of funds whose capital and income can only be spent on maintaining the fabric of the Church.
St. Nicholas PCC has “Excepted” charitable status.

The Parish & Benefice
The parish of Sandhurst is united with the adjacent parish of Benenden. There are three churches in the benefice: St. Nicholas and The Mission Church in Sandhurst and St. George’s in Benenden. The Rector of the united benefice, the Reverend David Commander, was appointed in 2015. A number of retired priests share in ministry to the benefice as well as one Authorised Lay Minister.
